As soon as I saw LH rootling about in the Rhubarb patch I knew what he had on his mind .....

... luckily I had all the right ingredients tucked up in the cupboards.

So an hour later what had been growing in the garden was in our tummies.

And very nice it was too.

Rhubarb Crumble

A handful of Rhubarb stems
A couple of Apples
2 tbs Ground Almonds
2 tbs of Brown Sugar

Oaty Crumble Mix
Flour
Half Flour weight of butter rubbed in until it resembles breadcrumbs
2 tbs Sugar
Handful of Porridge Oats

Wash and chop rhubarb, peel and chop apples place both in an ovenproof dish.
Sprinkle over the Ground Almonds and the brown sugar.
Top with the crumble mix and another tablespoon of brown sugar if you want to.

Bake in a medium oven 200c/Gas 6/Top oven of Aga for around 30 minutes or until the juices are starting to bubble round the edges and the top is lightly browned.

Eat hot with ice cream, and then later cold with hot custard.
